Businesses across the country utilize and pay daily for advertising on social media. Social Media Companies would be nothing without business support. It's time they begin helping their business partners in earnest in return!

In the past week, our company (small, private, locally owned) had to jump through unbelievable hoops to intercept, confront, and report more than 30 nefarious accounts using our brands, images, and copyrighted materials.

Recently a victim of these teams posing as our CEO figured out their scam three months into an online 'relationship.' Unfortunately, she was defrauded of over $23,000 before she discovered the truth. This is not OK! This is not right! Moreover, THIS happens everyday on all these platforms.

Social Media giants carry much influence, but with their power comes great responsibility to humanity which they all also claim to believe. Business, especially small businesses, can be adversely affected by these imposters. It's time the SM giants get much better in helping business GET RID of these imposters. They could easily simplify the reporting processes, mark repeated reporting businesses as 'in stress,' and get those profiles locked down or deleted and help us help ourselves!
