Subject: Restore Dahabe Abdella's Account

Facebook disabled the account of a human rights activist Dehabe Abdella on the aftermaths of the Ethiopia government’s attempt to withdraw the security details of a prominent Oromo activist Jawar Mohammed. Her account is disabled for an unknown reason for more than a week. When she tried to reach out for an explanation via email, Facebook is silent for more than a week. She believes that she’s never violated any community standards, and her account was disabled without any warning or any sort of explanation. Such a random act of disabling amounts to restricting her freedom of expression.

Dehabe has over 100K passionate followers and is known for her advocacy to promote human rights around the world. She is the voice of millions of Oromo, in particular of Oromo women. She is active in her community in the US.

We, her friends and fans, kindly request Facebook to reinstate her account so that she can reconnect back with her family, friends, and fans at this defining moment when a lot is going on the issues she is passionate about. We also request Facebook to investigate why such a random act of disabling took place in the first place.
