Why this petition matters

Some time later in December 2019, Facebook started blocking the Wrongly Convicted Website ( https://wronglyconvictedgroup.wordpress.com/ ).

This means links to the website can no longer be posted using Facebook, and also past posts which link to the website are no longer accessible.

Facebook claims it's "Community Standards" require the site be blocked, but this is not justified. The Wrongly Convicted Group is a social media group which advocates for people who may have been wrongly convicted. Cases are proposed, and votes are taken ( on Facebook posts ) to see if a case should be supported. These posts are now inaccessible. While not technically a breach of the law, this goes against all principles of freedom of speech. As of January 2020, 59 cases adopted by the group had been exonerated, while many other cases of apparent wrongful conviction remain.

Facebook should rescind the block ( and also the blocking another website about serial killer Edward Wayne Edwards, suspected of causing multiple wrongful convictions : https://ededwardsserialkiller.wordpress.com/

Please sign this petition to help put pressure on Facebook to reconsider.
