When a friend or family member on Facebook asks for prayers in a situation it feels inadequate or inappropriate to click on the like or love emoticons as a form of support.
Prayer spans across many religious groups and is not an exclusive practice.
A folded hands emoticon is much more helpful in the cases of a death, trauma, illness, support, or prayer request. Please, join in requesting an additional emoticon for such instances.
We are keenly aware that there are many traditional forms of prayer and energy exchanges that do not fold their hands. We freely and openly acknowledge this. Please, understand that we were looking for as universal a symbol as possible not promote any paths. (A candle flame had been taken as a sign of bereavement.) *
The folding together of hands should be thought of as I am sending out these intentions for you either directly or through spirit as you see fit.
*Over 90% of those that identify themselves as following a path use folded hand prayer; and we went with a universal denominator.
