Consent Is NOT Optional

Photos/videos taken without consent should be able to be removed by those in them. After reading all of Instagram's terms and guidelines, I didn't see the word consent even once. If you are a US citizen over the age of 18 you can't have the photo/video removed for violation of privacy. There isn't even a consent option when filing a report; there also isn't a way to type out an explanation as to why you are reporting the photo/video.
My friend and had a video taken of us without our knowledge. When it was posted, it painted us in a negative light. The video got a lot of views and comments, most of which were people sharing the video with their friends to laugh at us.
I tried to contact Instagram directly via the email they provided, which lead to an inactive email account. After this experience, I am hoping that Instagram will change their policies to ensure that consent was given.
