Allow Tubers to Continue to Exit the Apple River at Village Park in Somerset, Wisconsin

On August 20, 2019, the Village Board of Somerset, Wisconsin voted unanimously to permanently close the customary exit for tubers from the Apple River which is situated at Village Park.

Tubing a wild and natural river is a unique experience in the U.S. Tubing the Apple River has been a huge draw to tourists for decades in Somerset.

Tubing and camping are the primary sources of income for several park and campground owners. Tourists spend millions of dollars at many other businesses in our Village as well.  Businesses were created to serve those tourists. The loss of this income stream will ultimately damage every household in the Village.

We do not want to see our Village businesses fail. We do not want Somerset to become a ghost town. Please, sign and share this petition.
