TransLink CEO Kevin Desmond has announced that SkyTrain is under consideration for planned rapid transit on Fraser Highway. Dual business cases will be produced for both SkyTrain and LRT alternatives, as confirmed by Surrey Mayor Linda Hepner, which will give stakeholders the first fair opportunity to compare rapid transit alternatives. Today’s announcement is a major milestone for this campaign - it means that SkyTrain for Surrey is closer to winning a SkyTrain victory for transit users South-of-the-Fraser, driven forward by your help in showing decision makers that there is a strong voice for SkyTrain and better transit here. This campaign started nearly 4 years ago, built on a platform oriented around major issues with the Light Rail system promoted by Surrey.
