Say No to the Separate Entrance For Poor People
A new luxury condo in New York City's Upper West Side will have separate entrances for people living in affordable housing units in the building. This blatant classism against lower-income New Yorkers is outrageous and harkens back on racist policies of separate water fountains, separate bathrooms, and separate building entrances for people of color.
This discrimination should not be tolerated -- but it's actually a common practice in New York City when luxury buildings contain affordable housing units. This needs to end right now, with this building. Extell, the development company building this tower, is a contributor to Christine Quinn's NYC mayoral campaign -- and Quinn has now made a statement denouncing this poor door policy.
Sign this petition to tell Extell Development Company to end the discrimination and stop their poor door policy.

Reverse your decision to enact a "poor door" policy at your new Riverside location in the Upper West Side. This discrimination against low-income New Yorkers is unconscionable and has already been publicly censured by community members along with mayoral candidate Christine Quinn.
