Whereas Sir John Alexander Macdonald was the first Prime Minister of Canada from 1867–1873.

Whereas Sir John A. Mcdonald was the dominant figure of Canadian Confederation and had a political career which spanned almost half a century.

Whereas Sir John Alexander Macdonld stopped emigration of people to the US by building the transcontinental railroad to stimulate growth, and to implement a "National Policy" of high tariffs that would protect the small Canadian firms from American competition.

We, the undersigned, hereby petition the Council of the City of Regina that no action be taken to remove the statue of Sir John A. Macdonald from Victoria Park in Regina Saskatchewan.
