Under new laws enacted in Brunei, LGBTQ+ people and women will face barbaric punishments including death by stoning. This petition calls for all travel websites to hold the Brunei government accountable by ending all business relationships and partnerships with Brunei-owned hotels.

The following are some of the punishments imposed by Brunei’s current laws:
1) If revealed as gay, men will be stoned to death;
2) If revealed as gay, women will face physical torture (lashings);
3) Adultery will be punishable with death by stoning;
4) Women who become pregnant out of wedlock will be imprisoned;
5) Abortion, in all instances, will be punishable by up to 15 years in prison and/or public flogging; and
6) Dressing in "a manner that is different than your gender" may result in imprisonment.

-The Beverly Hills Hotel, Beverly Hills
-Hotel Bel-Air, Los Angeles
-Le Meurice, Paris
-Hotel Plaza Athenee, Paris
-Hotel Eden, Rome
-Hotel Principe di Savoia, Milan

George Clooney, a supporter of the boycott movement, explained that “every single time we stay at or take meetings at or dine at any of these nine hotels we are putting money directly into the pockets of men who choose to stone and whip to death their own citizens for being gay or accused of adultery.”

We must amplify our effort in order to make a strong impact!

An incredible way to enhance the strength of this boycott is for the travel websites that sell rooms at these hotels to immediately cease all bookings. This petition calls for all travel websites to do the right thing and end their relationships with Brunei-owned hotels.
