The VA reportedly has 625,865 cases in backlog, which is the number of cases that have been pending an appeal for more than 125 days. The cases in backlog include disability compensation and pension claims. When the VA has made a decision for these cases they make a decision on what they see fit. If the VA makes the decision that the condition you have isn't caused by an event that occurred during the time you have served in the military then you won't receive any benefits. The VA is often wrong about the cause of these veterans conditions which means that they won't be able to receive proper treatment. The purpose of this petition is to get the VA to recognize that even if they don't think the disability deserves compensation they should still offer treatment because the cause of the disability was a result of serving in the military.
