The University of Central Florida's Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) are a crucial part of the healthcare infrastructure on campus. Due to low funding and inadequate staff numbers CAPS is unable to meet the large and growing needs of the student body. It is deeply upsetting that students in need are made to wait months before meeting with a psychologist/psychiatrist to receive therapy, and to get (or change) life saving medication. We need UCF to immediately increase funding for CAPS, hire more staff, and ensure that these life threatening wait times no longer exist.
