Nuestro propósito es presionar a las estaciones de televisión a traer más diversidad racial, particularmente afrolatina, a sus programas de entretenimiento, especialmente a las telenovelas.

Debemos unirnos para desafiar la desigualdad racial en la industria de la televisión hispana/latina. Nuestro mensaje es claro: la Diversidad Racial Importa.

Solicitamos que las productoras televisivas desarrollen y adopten políticas que ayuden a identificar, capacitar y promover actores, actrices, periodistas y personal técnico afrolatinos para que tengamos más visibilidad en las pantallas y que los miembros de nuestra comunidad puedan lograr su sueño sin sufrir concepciones estereotípicas ni discriminación racial.

Este proceso contribuirá a eliminar el racismo sistémico que impera desde hace décadas en América Latina, permitiendo que los productores de telenovelas y de otras formas de entretenimiento televisivo se conviertan en pioneras de cambios socioculturales, económicos y políticos en la región. También permitirá el libre acceso a oportunidades en la televisión a personas de múltiples orígenes raciales.

WE DEMAND RACIAL DIVERSITY IN HISPANIC TELENOVELA PRODUCTIONS AND HISPANIC TELEVISION ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAMS.

We call for racial diversity in television productions and greater participation of Afro-Latinx in telenovelas and Hispanic television entertainment programs.

Every Latinx, Afro-Latinx, and Hispanic makes a difference in reaching our goal.

Our purpose is to pressure Hispanic television stations to bring more racial diversity, particularly Afro-Latinx, to their entertainment programs, especially telenovelas.

We must come together to challenge racial inequality in the Hispanic/Latino television industry. Our message is clear: Racial Diversity Matters.

We request that Hispanic television production companies develop and adopt policies that help identify, train, and promote Afro-Latinx actors, actresses, journalists, and technical personnel so that we have more visibility on the screens and members of our community can achieve their dream without suffering from stereotypical conceptions or racial discrimination.

This process will help eliminate decades of systemic racism in Latin America, allowing telenovela producers and other forms of Hispanic television entertainment to become pioneers of socio-cultural, economic, and political changes. It will also allow free access to television opportunities for people of multiple racial backgrounds.
