Hello,

I am proposing  a bill to be passed for students that are in special education to be exempt from state testing and alternate assessments. I believe that  students need to be tested on their intellectual level in school and not by standards that are more in favor of the general education students. This give parents an alternative to opt out of state testing for their child to be tested on their grade band cognitively . Hopefully one day the law and standards can be more in favor of the  ex ed students by testing them more on their functional and cognitive grade level. This will also allow the students, parents , teachers and the community to not feel over whelm about the testing score affecting  the outcome of the scores that determine the school rating . Once we win this will change the whole dynamic of the special education system, families and the community.
