David Carrillo started this petition to Colorado Governor and the Executive Clemency Advisory Board

This petition is to show your support for a grant of Clemency for David Carrillo by the Honorable Governor Polis.  David was convicted of first degree murder, based on the theory of complicity, for the June 28, 1993 shooting death of Christopher Romo.  David  was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole.  David was 19 years old when he, his brother, and three other friends (all teenagers) set out to walk two of his friend’s half-way home.  Along the way they came across Chris’ home.  David’s brother (the actual and admitted shooter) and another teenage boy went to Chris’ home and shot him through his bedroom window.  Though it was five teenage boys walking together that fateful morning, eight people were indicted by a Pueblo County grand jury for their participation.  Of the eight people indicted, David was now the only person serving natural life without the possibility of parole.  David has been incarcerated now for over 26 years while his brother, the admitted shooter, is free and out on parole.  David has acknowledged his role and accepted responsibility for his part and hassought forgiveness from the Romo family. David is only seeking fair treatment.  If you support David’s plea for fairness, please sign this petition to show your support.
