Recently the Eastern Westmoreland Career and Technology Center (EWCTC) closed down one of the boys bathrooms and made the neighboring girls bathroom a “unisex bathroom”, These are the bathrooms closest to the cosmetology classroom. The cosmetology class which is primarily girls will now have to walk a long distance just to use the restroom in peace, if they don’t want to be watched by some pervert boy. Now you could say okay so what they have to walk a little further, easy to say if you’re a guy. The avg male bladder can hold 2+ cups of fluids a day which makes it easier to hold it, where as the avg female is closer to 1 cup a day, which makes it very hard for them to control their bladder. Making them walking 100 yards isn’t helping, if they can even make it that far.

So now okay, we get the whole equality movement and “we have to make people feel excepted” but clearly that is the one and only thing EWCTC and the highschool were thinking about when making this decision. Did you think about this? The age group attending EWCTC ranges from 14-19. Boys at the ages of 14-16 if they aren’t still going through it they have just finished puberty, most boys at these ages are absolutely crazy for girls, wether you like it or not most of them have perverted thoughts towards women when they see one. at this point of their life they’ve most likely never seen a naked girl in person and now you’ve just opened the door for them to spy on as many girls as they want. There have already been girls that have seen different guys peeping through the stall doors trying to get a “show”. Have you thought about that? I doubt it. So not only that but most highschool boys and even a lot of girls want one thing right now, yeah sorry to break it to you teachers and parents but that’s SEX. They now have the opportunity to pull off a “quickie” in the bathroom if they really want, it also opens up the opportunity for these girls to be raped and even the possibility of boys getting raped, IN THE SCHOOL BATHROOM. And who’s fault would that be if something were to happen??? Have you thought about the fact that if these highschoolers do end up using this bathroom for those purposes, the pregnancy rate there could go up, the sexual assault rate, STD’s! I’m sure there’s much else. Is all this really worth “making people feel excepted”? I would say no and I’m sure there are a ton of people that will agree.
