jasmin saury started this petition to Boris Johnson (Prime Minister) and

As we all know exams are being postponed and are now cancelled which has left us with the choice of receiving predicted grades. We where also able to appeal for our grades if we thought we were given a grade which does not resemble our full potential however the rule on this has changed Ofqual has now stated: "appeals would only be allowed on the grounds that the centre made a data error when submitting its information, or that the exam board made a mistake when calculating, assigning or communicating a grade."

This is unfair as some students have worked incredibly hard doing things such as online work, past papers or any other revision or work in general. Thus meaning what their teachers may give them as a predicted grade may not reflect their actual hard work and knowledge. If we were allowed to appeal with proof such as revision, past papers, etc the system would work more fairly.

We have also been told that "Students who feel that their grades from the summer do not reflect their ability will have the opportunity to take their exams in the autumn series or in summer 2021. If they choose to do this, both grades will stand." Whilst this does give students another chance it also means we will be unable to go to our preferred universities or colleges etc or do the courses we want to do if we don't have the right requirements at the time.

During this time we are going through a lot of difficulties and its only fair us students have a chance to appeal and challenge our grades if we feel we are not given the grade we could have potentially achieved being given the chance to complete our examinations.
