IS OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT MAKING THE BEST USE OF ITS RESOURCES?
Enrollment has declined in Evesham Schools from 5436 in 2003 to
4405 in 2016. The decline is expected to continue into 2021.
* There are 1031 empty desks
* The schools are currently operating at about 68% capacity overall.
* Resources are not being utilized efficiently.
THE CONSOLIDATION PLAN TIMELINE
March 2016: The school board approved school consolidation plan.
August 2016: The NJ Department of Education approved the plan.
July 2017: Close Evans school; distribute students among other schools, and make more efficient use of resources.
Future: Rent out Evans and create revenue stream for district
January 2017: Board members elected in November, with the support of the mayor and thousands of dollars from a township political party, swing the board away from consolidation.
February 2017: The School Board is expected to vote to reverse consolidation. 5 of 9 board members indicated they will do this.

Declining enrollment needs to be addressed…NOW!
By keeping unneeded school buildings open, the board of education is failing its fiduciary duty to taxpayers. Consolidation will provide a cost savings of $1.4 million annually.
Come to the Board of Education meeting on Thursday February 23, 7:00 pm at DeMasi. Tell the school board you support consolidation and the efficient use of your tax dollars!
If you can’t make the meeting, email board members. Find email addresses at http://www.evesham.k12.nj.us/site/Default.aspx?PageID=136
