The average Canadian produces approximately 2.7 kg of garbage each day, making Canada one of the most waste producing countries in the world.

We, the students of Notre Dame, have decided to take action on this issue one step at a time by starting with our school board. This petition is to bring awareness to the TCDSB and to achieve a waste-free environment through the use of biodegradable or compostable items, instead of the usual Styrofoam or plastic products. These items will be useful for:

• Breakfast programs (bowls, cups, etc.)
• Lunch programs (plates, cups, etc.)
• After-school events 
• Everyday needs (such as garbage bags)

In order to make this change happen we are asking for a minimum of 500 signatures before January 25th at the latest. We are truly grateful to all those willing to participate in our petition. By signing this petition, you are being the change you want to see in the world.
