Almost 1300 unmarked graves had been found at four former residential schools in Canada. The discovery of these graves are reopening wounds for the Indigenous people of Canada. As a non profit organization of Canada, we stand alongside Canadians in the fight for equality, justice, and freedom for each and every person living on Canadian soil.

The federal government had committed $320 million for programs to help Indigenous communities search burial sites at multiple former residential schools and to support the survivors. (CBC/Radio Canada, August 10, 2021). Although this may seem to be a lot in overall terms, when looking at how many people were affected by residential schools and the provided sum from the government, it's not much. Almost 1 million indeginous people were somehow affected by residential schools, either by suffering because their parents or guardians had experienced it, and in many other ways. When calculating the total sum of how much the government had given, and how many people who were affected by it, the calculations only end up to $320 per person cutting out the amount of money needed for the discovery of graves. This is all that an affected person would get in return of the abuse, torture, and trauma given my resdiential schools. Although this is a small step forward for Canada, it is not enough, there is much more Canada needs to do to support the indigenous people of Canada.

Sign our petition to convince the government to provide the necessary funding for rehabilitation and support centres for the indigenous people of Canada.
