Thousands of birds become entangled, injured and die each year because of netting and spikes used to deter pigeons from places that humans do not want them to be. Pigeons are harmless, gentle, friendly creatures who merely want to find a safe and secure home for themselves and their life partner, for them to lay eggs, make babies and bring up their young. They do not carry germs and cannot pass on diseases to humans-please do your own genuinely sourced research.

Unfortunately, it has been ingrained into society that pigeons are vermin. Why is this? Well because people find them annoying and a "pest" however, we soon forget their role that they played in both WW1 and WW2! Due to pigeon's loyal nature and homing skills, they tirelessly transported military messages to and fro, to defeat the enemy. Without pigeons, there is a good chance we may not have defeated the enemy and life would be very different now. Therefore, we literally owe our lives to these beautiful creatures who deserve to be left alone and respected but instead, who are shot, poisoned, killed and brutally kicked out of their homes! 

When companies such as property developers, TfL, National Rail and councils decide they do not want pigeons to live in their own homes anymore, they create chaos, havoc and reign terror on these defenseless birds. They violently shoo these timid birds away, throw their nests in the bin, including those with their babies in them!! Then block up the area with netting and spikes, to prevent these poor sentient beings from returning to their homes. Imagine how that must feel!? Then, the poor birds try an get back home and become entangled and caught in this netting and become impaled on spikes and sustain life long injuries, or die a slow, stressful and painful death. 

Is this how we should be treating our war veterans? This must change.
