Stop the building or planning applications on the field off Beatrice Avenue East Cowes

We are trying to stop the development of the field off crossways, Beatrice Avenue and whippingham road. This is a field owned by the local council which is currently leased to a local farmer who year after year grows crops. This land was originally marked for educational purposes. It has been used by Queensgate school for sports days at purpose was intended.
- We need to put local money into our farmers as once we leave the EU we need to be self sufficient. The plans included Social Housing, Sheltered housing and an discount store preferred Aldi or Lidl. This will in term loose our local shops that provide an invaluable service to the elderly generation including local deliveries.
- As the 5th best postcode in the UK why would we want to loose this status by this type of development? We won it due to the landscape and historical features and removing yet another large field which has wonderful kerb appeal will affect this.
- The one thing the Isle of Wight is known for is community spirt and friendliness we need to support our communities and local producers and service providers and not allow large chains due to the incapabilites of the IOW Council and the PSP for not being able to communicate with the local people. For example Not receiving leaflets that have apprently been posted, last minute public consultations and lack of communication.
So this will not just affect one type of social structure it will affect every member of the community and more widely islandwide.
