Save Beagle Clubs oppose HB 1308 in New Hampshire
House Bill 1308 aims to prohibit the possession, transportation, and propagation of Hare and/or rabbit in the state of New Hampshire effectively ending to beagle clubs. It would also force clubs to release or surrender any hare/rabbit in the clubs position. This would stop all training of beagles in safe environment as well as put an end to field trials in the state of NH. The passage of this bill would set a predicant that the anti hounding and hunting communities will use to gain traction in other states as well. There are strict rules that clubs in NH have to follow to be aloud to posses and propagate hare. we have a limit of 20 hare per club to be live trapped in the state, propagation reports have to be filled out every year and a hare has to be checked by a vet in the presence of a game warden to make sure they are healthy. the areas the hare live in at the clubs are meticulously maintained and are 50acres to 100acres in size. The grounds are managed with the help of state foresters as well. The hare are cared for with habitat maintenance and supplemental feeding. Please sign this petition and write a comment on why you oppose this bill as well as email the representatives for your area.
