The rental market is increasing to high for families of an average income to meet the qualifications, with part of the concern being credit checks requiring more positive to negative accounts, this is half of middle income families. The 2.5 or 3 x’s to income qualify is taking middle income families out of getting approved income wise. The BMR program ( below market rent ) is in such high demand, it leaves no room for others to get into the program. All rentals should be based off of a 50/60/70 % income to rent ratio. With the homeless getting higher and families be forced into women shelters with children we need to make a stand.
