It causes feelings of sadness or loss of interest of activities that you once enjoyed. Depression is like living in a body that fights to live in a mind that tries to die. Symptoms may include: sadness, loss of interest, change in appetite, and trouble in sleeping, loss of energy, feelings of worthlessness and worst of all is thoughts of death or suicide.
The World Health Organization (2008) estimated that in every 40 seconds, someone dies by suicide which approximately results in 1 million individuals dying to suicide every year. This outgrowing number of deaths is alarming and must be stopped.
People should be aware about issues related to depression and suicide. This problem is no joke, on valuable life is being taken away. That is why awareness to everyone is important in order to prevent more suicide cases.
This campaign's goal is for everyone to be aware of how depression affects how you live everyday and is the main cause of suicide around the world. We also aim to cease the growing number of suicide cases and for people to be enlightened that suicide is not the best option to handle all your problems so that people can live a happy and decent life so that the world can be a better place.
