Pledge to NEVER Text While Driving

Distracted driving has become a serious safety issue in Tennessee and across the country. As studies have shown, the most dangerous form of distraction is using one’s cellphone to text while driving. This is because it involves taking one’s eyes off the road, hands off the steering wheel and mind off driving safely.
As National Highway Traffic Safety Administration statistics indicate, drivers of all ages engage in this dangerous activity – not just teens and novice drivers. A recently released survey by AT&T shows that people are using their cellphones to surf the Web, access social media sites and even shoot videos while driving, too.
It has to stop. Too many preventable accidents, injuries and deaths are occurring due to texting while driving and other forms of distracted driving.
Attorney David E. Gordon has seen the devastating consequences of texting accidents. That is why he is calling on drivers in Memphis and throughout Tennessee to join him in his effort to prevent these crashes. He believes it starts with individuals making a promise to make good decisions when they drive.
Please sign this pledge to never text and drive and encourage your friends, family members and others within your community to sign it as well. We can all play a role in eliminating distracted driving accidents Tennessee and across the country.
