In my 42 years of life I have never experienced what I am experiencing and witnessing today. The Corona virus has impacted all human beings globally. America is a progressive country with many conveniences made available to all who can pay for them. Most Americans do not possess survival skills nor have they ever had to endure a pandemic at this level. We're all in a state of panic and fear due to the media constantly reminding us of the death counts increasing and happening all over the world. We can choose to prepare and not scare or be scared and fail to prepare the choice is ultimately your own to make. We all have to come together and do our part in order for us to survive this pandemic and once again Prosper as the greatest country in the world.

   Although there is no vaccine or known cure as of yet for the corona virus we can do our part to help slow it down. I propose that our government order every single employer in our nation to send every single employee home for the next two weeks with paid time off. My suggestion is based on what I am currently experiencing in my own workplace. We are a financial organization and in my branch there is less than 10 people working in that office however one of the employees caught the flu and our manager has kept her there while she coughs and blows her nose within four feet of my desk. Needless to say a second co-worker fell ill and hasn't been seen in a few days he was sent home and permitted to work remotely from home however the first coworker who became ill first is still in the office and her flu isn't 100% gone. The point of the story is that if we where to all be sent home then we would stop becoming sick because we are being forced to work with this sick co-worker for the sake of making a profit for the company when our well-being should be priority in a time of global crisis. This scary experience has led me to think about all the different places around America where sick co-workers are getting non sick co-workers sick because of greedy employers. 

   Today I witnessed yet another horrible part of this pandemic.  I went food shopping as I normally do every week for my family. I grocery shop once a week and it normally takes me about 1 hour to get everything I need and get myself home. Today it took me five hours because I had to travel to six different stores ,markets and water supply stores just to get basic necessities. During my shopping I encountered several customers fighting over water, toilet paper, beans, rice, baby wipes, even tampons. I also witnessed a physical altercation between two adult males over a case of water. I Was then followed by a random adult male who was aggressively asking me if I would sell him some of my water that he saw me put into my trunk of my car. I also witnessed racism against two Asian women Americanized Asian women who were peacefully shopping at my local farmers market for some vegetables everyone there was glaring at them and made them uncomfortable enough to walk out.  I have always been a kind ,caring, and extremely observant person. I notice Injustice and I always try to be kind to people that need love the most or to those that feel ignored and invisible because it is what my heart tells me to do. Today I came home in tears because I didn't recognize my world it all seems so different so dark you could cut the tension with a knife. People we're on edge everywhere I went. It is my belief that my petition will help us As Americans to survive this pandemic. Let's not wait for our death toll to rise. Let's not wait for looting and violence to begin or to worsen. Let's do something now!!! The only thing that we can do is control and limit  social engagement with one another. By taking two weeks off of work and getting away from one another we can slow this down. I also petition everyone to stay home unless it is absolutely necessary to go out. Stay home! Learn from China, learn from Italy. We have to do this. I understand that not all employers are large organizations with the ability to do what I am asking for. However this is where our government should step in. If we have money for Wars then we should have money for our pandemic. Another idea would be for everyone to exhaust their sick paid time off if they have that option and later on during the year earn it back slowly little by little.  what good is are paid sick time if we don't use it ? let's Force the government to force our employers to enforce the usage of this paid benefit now!!! The time is now! Our crises is now this cannot wait. This is urgent! We must do things with intelligence!  let's keep our distance from one another until we can defeat this virus.  we have nothing if we don't have our health.
