Forest in our country are very rich in biodiversity. Many of our plants and animals could be found in the rainforests. It is due to the constant high temperature and humidity in the tropics. Unfortunately, many forests are threatened due to deforestation. The primary reason are commercial logging and cutting of trees to provide for their agricultural needs.

There are so many effects of deforestation in our country. Not only the giant trees will be lost but also the species living in the forests will disappear. Some of it are the tarsiers and the Philippine eagle. And we should not wonder why our country experiences consistent flashfloods and landslides."According to the recent reports of National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDMC) about 262,107 families have lost their homes while about 1.355 million people have been affected." Some negative consequences of deforestation also include the disruption of water cycle and climate change (Deforestation a growing problem in the Philippines, 2012).

Our planet without forest is a picture humanity cannot imagine. Forest covers most land area in our planet thus it is very important for it provides what most of us needs, its wide array of capabilities can help most aspect in our lives. However, nature currently faces a major threat: Deforestation - it is an act or process of clearing of trees where the land is thereafter converted to a non-forest use. Due to continuous practicing of this activity, many negative effects rapidly emerging. If the current rate of deforestation continues, the world's rain forests will vanish within 100 years-causing unknown effects on global climate and eliminating the majority of plant and animal species on the planet," according to NASA's Earth Observatory. Isn’t that alarming? Isn’t that something mankind should focus on? It is hard to stop, for it is complex and every single person contributes to this phenomena.

The dreadful effects alarmed the group to create a petition to attain a goal that will bring helpful information concerning the adverse effect of deforestation as well as how to prevent it. It seeks help from National sector: DENR as well local and NGO’s to ensure the refinement of nature and its resources for the betterment.

If you love to breathe, save the trees. Every part of the world is green if each of us' have a heat for green. Every single one of us should take part the essential duty of preserving nature for it is our home and our Planet. Just like what our current Ms. Earth - Karen Ibasco said: "Through our micro efforts, we can create a macro effect".
