New Zealand is one of only seven countries that still allows greyhound racing in our community, and this is something that needs to be bought to your attention. In 2020 alone, the Greyhound racing New Zealand annual report states that 34 dogs were killed on race tracks due to critical injuries which were sustained during their races. Furthermore, 165 dogs were euthanised for reasons that the GRNZ industry does not want to disclose with the public. In 2021, 13 dogs have died from race day injuries.78 have suffered from broken bones and over 600 injuries overall have been reported. For this reason, we would like to see a complete ban on this cruel practice.
