YoungPeopleChangeUS  Young people are Not behind 'military America' or the US Australia Alliance that we always see in the media.  We owe a debt to our defence forces, but in a world of escalating tensions, and unpredictable leadership, it is not enough to emphasise our military bonds.

As an Aussie who studied in the US I lived a different America from the military images we get on TV.  With help from US CITIZENS, and a great education project where students 'learn by doing in the community for the community' I had the good fortune to move from only completing a Grade 8 education to a holding a Ph.D. from a respected university.  I think the world should hear about the America where citizens support others to be more of who we are -- just like you helped me.  Do you agree - it's time to showcase the decency of citizen action in America - and in the process, help to bring our education and global relations into the 21st Century?

Our defence forces fought together because our citizens share the same values. So let's put equal focus on our shared values between citizens.  It is more vital than ever to remember that together, ordinary citizens can build our vision of the future while we also strengthen 21st Century education and global partnerships.  Please support this campaign by signing to ask the JFK Library to host a global event this September to commemorate JFK's last speech to the UN on Peace and to launch a Global Digital Peace Corps for schools everywhere.
