Mr. Kamamljit Singh Ghotra  a 42 year old man, father of two very young daughters was diagnosed with a severe a liver disease because of which he urgently needs to get a liver transplant surgery done. Unfortunately, the medical staff of Vancouver General Hospital has refused to conduct the surgery on the the basis of few reasons. The reasons mentioned by doctors are that the patient does not have a family member to take care of him after the surgery as his wife is the sole breadwinner. However we firmly believe that Kamaljit Singh Ghotra's family is capable enough to take care of him, because if due to his medical conditions if his wife can single handedly take care of their kids then why can't she take care of the patient as well for few months till he starts recovering. Even if she is unable to look after him, a nurse could be appointed to take his care. Second reason mentioned by the doctors is that they doubt if Mr Ghotra would quite alcohol after the surgery or not. However, it is quite obvious that a person would not repeat his mistakes after knowing the value of his life. Adding to this Kamaljit's wife, his brother-in- law, he himself and we as a community are ready to undertake the responsibility of making sure that Kamaljit Singh Ghotra would take care of his health and quite alcohol.
Therefore, it is a high time that we realize our responsibility towards humanity and sign a petition to save an innocent life, a father, a husband and a family from being shattered.
