Homelessness is defined as the state of an individual not having a home or an address, experienced by someone without accommodation. 

In Australia this issue is growing and affecting more people each year. 

Homelessness has increased by 49% over the last 10 years in people who are over the age of 55. 

The main contributors to youth homelessness is domestic violence, such as conflict within the family or threatening and controlling behaviour, as well as income and housing issues, which could include overcrowding in the home or not being able to afford rent.
