Extend the 45MPH No Passing Zone by 2 Miles on WV Route 2 in Lesage, West Virginia

On July 9, 2015, Luther and Patricia Shaffer, lost their lives when their motorcycle was struck by a pickup truck as they were trying to pull off of WV Route 2 in Lesage, West Virginia at Hillbilly Hot Dogs. This is not the first time someone has lost their life or been in an accident on Route 2 in Lesage.
Increased traffic and motorists that fail to obey speed limits have made the area incomprehensibly dangerous for motorists, patrons and residents in Lesage. Most of the businesses and residents are protected by a 45MPH No Passing Zone, but, heading North, the speed limit changes to a 55 MPH Passing Zone, just one mile before Hillbilly Hot Dogs and the many residents whose houses are along Route 2.
All businesses and residents should be protected under the same 45 MPH No Passing Zone restrictions to help ensure a tragedy like the one on July 9th, never happens again. Extending the 45MPH No Passing Zone 2 Miles North and implementing increased enforcement by the Cabell County Sheriff's Department would give motorists, residents, pedestrians and business patrons the critically needed protection.
