Violence against women needs to stop

Most of us dream of changing the world to the better. We might just be able to do so.  We want to convince football’s governing bodies to help us. We want most Members of European Parliament(MEPs) to help us with this. There are already over 60 female MEPs that joined us but we think you can persuade others and especially your national MEPs to join. The European Parliament in its majority should ask UEFA and FIFA to help stop violence against women. The First Vice-President of the European Commission did it as well as the Secretary General of the Council of Europe. 2017 is the European Year of focused actions to fight violence against women.  Here you have a very short description of what we want UEFA and possibly FIFA do. Please sign it and share it. Many thanks.

Three times 15 seconds

We can educate hundreds of millions, prevent millions from being abused and tens of thousands from being killed. Three times 15 seconds from teams, sponsors and UEFA to Stop Violence Against Women.

Imagine a football game where the goal posts are pink and STOP VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN is written in black on the crossbar.

Players and referees alike are dressed in bright pink T-shirts with a black print on the front with the slogan “Stop Violence Against Women” and #WeAreFootballStopViolenceAgainstWomen on the back. Teams will come on the pitch together with young girl footballers dressed in similar T-shirts.

A 15 second video starts before every single UEFA and national game, beginning with a black screen without sound. Flashing black and white images of the world’s most recognisable football players looking at the camera then appear to the viewer; the slogan “Stop Violence Against Women” written in different European languages in white letters appear at every second.

For 15 seconds, all of the advertising around the pitch has one focus - “Stop Violence Against Women”

61 female members of the European Parliament have already signed the letter above. We should be a lot more. Join us– Stop Violence Against Women!
