The Following Petition has been submitted to the EU Parliament and the signatories here shall be added to the list of signatories at the EU Parliament.

We the signatories of this petition, being citizens of the country of Scotland, a member of the Union of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and lawful citizens of the European Union, respectfully request, that the other 27 member states delay the signing of any negotiated exit agreement between the European Union member states and the UK until such time as Scotland has had a chance to vote on its constitutional future and has decided whether to exit the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

We further seek the member states of the European Union (except the UK Government) to formally support Scotlands membership of the European Union before a vote on Independence from the United Kingdom and to support membership under Article 48 of the Lisbon treaty, rather than Article 49, to ensure Scotland and it's citizens place as citizens of the European Union and to secure the place of European citizens living and working in Scotland as welcome and valued members of our country. We seek the member states of the European Union to support limited derogation of the acquis of the European Union (rules for membership) and of the Copenhagen Criteria with regards to Scotland being able to use any such currency as the people of Scotland see fit and that Scotland would be exempt from having to enter the Eurozone, of course, such a matter being unrealistic due to the duty to enter the Exchange rate mechanism II for a period of 2 years prior to entering the zone. We seek the European Union to do this pursuant to Article 5 of the European Convention on Human Rights, where all citizens have the right to liberty and security of person, liberty being the fundamental right of choice and security the right to feel secure in the knowledge that we are and shall remain EU citizens. We seek the European Union to do this pursuant to Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights, that the UK Government is depriving the citizens of Scotland of respect and for our private choice to remain citizens of the European Union.

We seek the European Union to do this pursuant to Articles 9 & Articles 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights, in that our freedom of thought (Article 9) (namely to remain EU citizens) and the expression of our overwhelming choice to remain citizens of the European Union (Article 10), to have a say on such matters and for that say to be respected is one which is being removed by the UK Government.

Finally, we seek this to be done, pursuant to Article 11 of the European Convention on Human Rights, in that there can be no greater expression of intent to assemble and associate than taking our place as equals among other equal nations, becoming a greater part of the whole which is the European Union and securing our place as citizens of that Union.
