We represent the Roma Community within Europe who is a Stateless Nation. Our organization with our privileges and rights as a EU headquartered legal personality acts in an official capacity on behalf of the people.  

I am writing to you deeply saddened and concerned regarding a specific case where 2 children twins Marcello and Valentino Sztojka were removed from a mother who is divorced or separated from her husband, the Social worker removed the children without evaluating if the father is fit to have custody. We have been told that the social worker who removed the children who are twins, male and female from their home because the mother was bathing them together in one bath tub. Keep in mind they are twins and siblings only 5 years old.   The social worker made discriminatory comments and apparently there is evidence of her statements and actions. She has been reassigned a few days ago and we feel this is an attempt to prevent rightful actions by the children's family.  Even if the mother was not fit or competent to care for the children, she did not give the father a chance at all. 

They at first were not allowed contact with the father now they have limited contact and are not allowed to speak to their father in their mother tongue (Romani Language). 

We have also received numerous reports of similar occurrences by other members of the Roma community throughout sweden which leads us to believe that discrimination is a common problem within the service and people who are prejudice seem to be abusing their powers and make decisions based on their biased views rather than making the best intrerest of children a priority in decision making.
