After the horrors of World War II, all civilised countries agreed a war of aggression would forever be considered a war crime prohibited under international law. Russia is engaged in a war of aggression against Ukraine, in breach of the UN charter and all norms of international law.

It is immoral to import energy from a country engaged in such war crimes, no freedom-loving country would have bought coal from Hitler's Germany in the 1940s and no democratic country should buy gas from Putin's Russia in 2022.

It's all well and good saying we need gas to heat our homes, but that is no answer when many Ukrainians are having their homes being blown to pieces, and thousands of Ukrainians are being killed in this barbaric and pointless invasion.
