The Petition

One aspect of the European Union (EU) that generally gets overlooked is it's work as an enabler/creator of peace, In 2012 the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to the European Union "for over six decades contributed to the advancement of peace and reconciliation, democracy and human rights in Europe.

The Nobel Peace Prize is a symbol known throughout the world as recognition to those people and organisations that have worked for international peace against war, destruction and hate.

Cardiff For Europe/Caerdydd Dros Ewrop  request that it be brought to the UK for a temporary public display (so far the EU have been reluctant to do this). We would be most grateful if you would sign our petition.

!!!Update 15th August 2019!!!

We've had some good news!:

The EU have kindly advised us they will allow one of their six Nobel Peace Prize replicas to be loaned for possibly a year from the House of European History in Brussels.

The Museum of Cardiff have kindly offered their gallery space for a display of the replica Nobel Peace Prize. The display will open on January 11th and run to 26th April 2020. We will keep the petition open whilst it may still yet be possible to loan the real version, but at the same time continue to proceed and make arrangements to bring the replica to the UK.

Many thanks to everyone who's signed so far, its thanks to you that we have at least this terrific partial success!

Cardiff For Europe currently have a team preparing display information panels and preliminary draft versions of these are on the Cardiff For Europe website at  Click Here To View    Please note these are preliminary and may change - let us know if you have any suggestions for improvement as well.

We will also contact other potential venues around the UK and plan an itinerary. If you know of any places that may be interested then do please let us know.
