As an Etsy seller and I agree with petitioning Etsy to develop policies that protect sellers and their mental health. One star reviews leave artists feeling invalidated. The mental anguish from the irrationality is time consuming and sometimes costs us money. We should NEVER have to get better at accepting this form of abuse by difficult buyers. I created a motto for my shop, and that is "One star reviews don't solve problems. People do." This can be solved if the reviews system is overhauled. I think a 24 hour cooling off period needs to be established, meaning a buyer MUST indicate to the seller if there was a problem with their order BEFORE leaving any review. This avoids a seller feeling blindsided and the consequential stress that follows.

Etsy lags seller platforms like Ebay and Amazon in separating out item/transaction quality from shipment. My wife sells her cards on Etsy, and though she hasn't yet complained about these problems, she has experienced others related to shipments.

As an Etsy shop owner, I know that once the item is shipped, it is out of my hands whether the item gets there in a timely manner. Etsy needs to stand up for its sellers/shop owners against negative reviews/cases that could damage the sellers reputation, especially when its not the fault of the seller.

As a small business owner that drives business and traffic to the platform, I’m absolutely appalled by the lack of support for the sellers. Especially this holiday season and all due to USPS.

Etsy does not back their sellers enough! Etsy sellers are constantly punished for postal errors and Etsy often refunds customers at sellers expense and doesn't recover kept goods!

I would like Etsy to allow sellers to rate buyers, not open up review window until the item has been delivered, not allow buyers to treat sellers unfairly with bad reviews and review extortion. Sellers need Etsy to have their back!
