Our school have introduced new school skirts with the logo on. However they are horrendous and do not fit anyone properly…they are tight at the hips and loose at the waist. Because of this a huge majority of girls now wear trousers but we are not allowed to wear slim fit trousers even know they do not affect our learning.We want to change this and allow us girls to be able to wear something we are comfortable in.The school claim that they are not appropriate for us to be wearing because “they show our figure off too much”.The school are claiming that our ankles are not allowed to be on show too when we are wearing trousers.It should not be us girls who should be changing how we dress it should be the men changing their views on “what we look like” and “how we dress” We come to school to learn and is what we want to do so we can get to where we want to in life and achieve our dreams, but because of this girls are missing out on education by being put in isolation. The year 11 students need to be in lessons learning everything possible but instead we are being isolated for what we are wearing. We have already missed out on learning because of covid and now even more learning is being missed because of this!
