Why this petition matters

Started by Frank Matrullo

The Wisconsin state fair keeps bunnies in wired cages with no flat surface to stand on, which these types of cages are known to hurt the bunnies paws. They are literally left in these cages for days with no toys or anything in hot weather with only fans blowing that doesn’t even cool all the bunnies.

But probably the worst thing I saw was a very large bunny in a small cage, the cage was only big enough for the bunny to stand up, no room to move around.

This is the Wisconsin state fair where if people bring their bunnies to display them, there should be standards of how they are taken care of, not just thrown in a harmful cage and displayed with a total lack of basic standards. Wired cages is a well known harmful thing for bunnies. Out of at least a 100 cages, 2 cages had a flat platform on the bottom of the cage and toys.

The 2nd picture is of the large bunny who can’t even stretch out in that cage! His bottom is at one end, he has to curve to fit in the rest!!!

Shari Black is the executive director of the Wisconsin state fair. She needs to implement standards of how animals should be housed.

The goal here is the State Fair implement minimal standards as in a flat surface for the bunnies to stand on, and bunnies have enough space to move around and to try and keep them cool in the hot weather.
