Bring Paper Recycling to ESUHSD

This petition had 124 supporters

Everyday, students are forced to throw recyclable paper and other recyclable items in the garbage. These materials will eventually flow into the ocean, or to a landfill; where they will release greenhouse gases and toxic pollutants into the environment.

Common Items that are found in the trash:
• Milk tea containers (recyclable, usually!)
• pint-size milk cartons (recyclable!)
• cardboard lunch trays (usually recyclable)
• Paper of all sorts (recyclable!)

We are advocating recycling reform at Evergreen Valley High School, and across schools in the East Side Union High School District of San Jose. This is a student run effort with (hopefully) the support of parents and teachers.

We specifically wish to complete the following objectives:
1. We would like ESUHSD to provide funds for our recycling program.
2. We want additional staff on campus to handle recycling/waste disposal.
3. We would like funds for infrastructure/supplies to deal with recycling.
