Promote Employment of Female Parks College Professor

We need your help. While we respect that the Dean of Parks College at Saint Louis University has to decrease spending due to SLU's budget issue, we wholly disagree with their decision to cut Professor Khalili as a faculty member.

If you are an electrical, computer, biomedical, or mechanical engineering major, you have had or will be having Professor Khalili. For those who do not know her, she has been working at SLU for 26 years teaching and guiding her students. Those who know Professor Khalili understand that she is not only a professor, but a role model - someone we aspire to emulate not only in academia, but in the face of adversity as part of a minority, as a small voice in the crowd; in attitude, in character, and in attention to those seeking help and advice. As the only female professor in electrical engineering, she makes a huge impact on students she teaches across multiple disciplines.

Professors cannot teach without schools to impact, schools do not exist without a student voice, and students are successful because of the amazing professors who taught them - and more than that, who inspired them. Hear this student’s voice: do not remove Professor Khalili from the staff of Parks College.

I, Esther Chinwuko, will be writing a letter to the Dean to stop this process, but they need to see that this is not just the opinion of one student, but so many of those that Professor Khalili has touched. Please sign this petition to create a POSITIVE CHANGE - every signature matters!
