On October 31st 2021 in Benfleet, Essex, UK, extreme incidents of anti social behaviour led to some members of the community feeling threatened and unsafe. These have been recorded on our community Facebook page.

The incidents involved a large group of masked people approximately numbering 10-20. These people threw various types of fireworks at; property, cars and people. Furthermore other residents had Halloween decorations stolen from their houses.

As a member of Benfleet having lived here since 2004, I have found these incidents extremely intimidating and threatening. However I am sure others would agree. Therefore I motion the following requests:

1. Increasing Police patrols each evening in Benfleet, especially in affected areas, and regular stop and search procedures. 

2. Banning the sale of fireworks, unless for Official Licensed displays.
