Why this petition matters

I would like the walkways and pathways to be made a lot safer than what they are. They are a hazard to people with no complications, I dread to think how those in a wheelchair or physically impaired manage. I would like to be able to walk around the village nicely Instead of having to constantly avoid and dodge huge cracks in the concrete or giant tree stumps starting to come through the ground, or the mini gravel pits that have been created through eroding paths. I had a premature baby, and I couldn’t actually walk him on the majority of the pathways in the village for the first 6 weeks of his life due to it being far too rocky and un even. It could of caused him damage the way he bounced around in his pram, at 4lbs 12 he had absolutely no weight to hold him down. I have witnessed elderly take a trip or a tumble because of the ridiculous holes, I have also witnessed younger children trip and hurt themselves. Not only that but I have witnessed wheelchair users seriously struggle to get over the massive cracks and holes, resorting to them using the road which is not safe at all. They have all been like this for the last 3 years + , so it really is about time someone does something about the monstrosity’s that we call footpaths.
