Essex County Council has taken the decision to block parking spaces used by parents during the school run on Sawyers Hall Lane. This particular lane hosts, 6 schools in addition to other facilities on a dead end road, further to 2 One Way roads! Parking has always been an issue and some of us have got into the habit of coming to school to park over an hour early (when not at work) on the few spaces avilable. These spaces have now been blocked without any consultation with parents and we have been left to battle for parking spaces in the area. It did not cross the council's mind to think about providing a parking space for parents before making a very short notice about blocking the avilabe parking spaces.

On a rainy day like today, parents got parking tickets, left, righ and center! I feel like we are being punished for choosing to send our children to the schools in the area.

Many parents are left upset and frustrated. Especially parents with little children and parents with special needs children as the children cannot be dropped off further from the schools to walk into school alone.

It is a very inconsiderate and unthoughtful move made by the council!  

We ask the council to reconsider unblocking these parking spaces or provide us with other parking spaces.
