The Maple school district voted today, Aug 9/21, to make masks optional for children in their district.  The children 12 and under are unable to be vaccinated at this time.  The Pandemic is now hitting those unvaccinated.  Our children expect and deserve safety in their schools.  They can not be vaccinated and definitely need the only protection available, MASKS, and to be surrounded by school staff that HAVE been vaccinated. The highly transmissible Delta, is the dominant variant in this country and it will bounce between the unvaccinated.  MIS-C, Multisystem inflammatory syndrome, is becoming more common in children who develop Covid.  We can not risk our children's lives for political power plays vs science!   MASKS have proven to work.  Schools need to follow suit with companies mandating vaccines for employees too.  Please help.  Our innocent children need help.  WE lock doors from active shooters, we can lock out virus with masks and vaccines.  They deserve that much from us.  Teachers unvaccinated, will likely get sick.  Many new teachers don't have more then 10 days sick time.  It's mandated to be out 11 days with quarantine.  One sickness will wipe out their sick time.  Staff shortages in themself, will shut down schools.  Again, easily remedied by mandating MASKS AND VACCINES.  Please help us protect our children
