A dedicated group of Esquimalt people, have raised $150,000 for this project to date. We want to upgrade the track (put in by the Class of 1970 so approaching 50 years of age) to more of a community friendly track - perhaps a 1970 M (three laps in honour of the class of '70) walking/jogging trail around both fields for everyone to use, install state of the art turf for year round sports and eventually build a field house, grandstands and work out facility for the high school students. SD 61 is 'Open for Business', we have momentum as a community, some of the McLoughlin Point Amenity Funds are specifically allocated for recreation infrastructure and most importantly: our KIDS DESERVE to stay in Esquimalt for outdoor sports through the winter months!
