ESPERANCE COMMUNITY POWER PROJECT

ISSUES. ; Towns residents and small businesses unable to install solar with little capacity available into the future and power prices continuing to increase.

With a 20yr PPA renewal there are concerns of little changes into the future.

CHANGES; Power price reductions to small businesses and social housing involved in the Cooperative owned solar.

The power retailer to work with the community cooperative allowing local investment design and management of a solar/wind model that would provide most of the regions energy needs.

A power plant that can manage 100% renewable energy during peak wind and sun times of the day averaging an 80% RE penetration in stage 1.

NFP Associations committee and members volunteering their time to create an opportunity for all residents to benefit in a project that will attract new industry, provide jobs, lower power prices for solar customers, investment opportunities for all locals, annual funds returning to the community for sustainable projects, and long term energy solutions utilizing wind and solar for future generations in the Esperance region.
