For years now, ESL Go4's in several games have been listed under the "major" category. Why is this important and why am I making a petition about it? It means that these tournaments are 18+ only. This is very frustrating to me, and hundreds of other people like me, who are unable to participate due to their age.

To rectify this, I'd have ESL consider changing Go4's from Major to Open. Doing this would open them to everyone. And I don't see why not, there is no actual cash prize to Go4's. Only credits and a charm. No LAN, no money. Com cups have also offered credits in the past, but remained an "open" tournament for anyone to participate in.

Which leaves me with the question, why should Go4's be considered a "major" event? Open tournaments have offered the same prize format in the past, the only difference being an in-game charm. It makes no sense for them to be in the same category as PL, CL, national leagues and major qualifiers.

Also, opening Go4's would allow new and upcoming young talent an opportunity to prove themselves outside of ranked MM. There is literally no downside that I can see.

If it means a slightly lower credits prize then so be it, it's a fair trade for a more accessible tournament.
